Argentina
Overview
Argentina's national mining policy is administered by the Secretariat of Mining within the Ministry of Economy. The national Mining Code establishes the general legal framework, while the provinces own the mineral resources within their territories and administer concessions, registries and operational approvals.
Mining Investment Framework
Decree 482/2026 modernised the regulations under Mining Investment Law 24,196. Joint General Resolution 5878/2026 repealed the former joint VAT-refund procedure and supports the revised process. These measures concern fiscal and investment compliance rather than routine tenement maintenance.
