Trend Plots – Model Validation
Trend Plots are used to validate estimated grades by comparing mean grades within a series of slices. The slices can be oriented in the X (Northing), Y (Easting) or Z (Elevation) directions.
- When Model Validation is applied to point (assay) data, the Trend Plot compares the mean of the estimated grade to the mean of the point data within each slice.
- When applied to a block model, the Trend Plot compares the mean grades of the selected block model datasets within each slice.
By default, the Trend Plot displays:
- The naive mean grade for the point data (when available)
- The estimate mean for any selected block datasets
In addition to these, you can also view:
- The naive mean with a top-cut applied
- The weighted mean grade
- The weighted mean grade with a top-cut applied
Notes:
The weighted and weighted top-cut mean grade series are only available if a Weight variable has been added to the point data. It can be defined through the Declustering component or a specific variable imported with the data.
The Trend Plot component is part of the Model Validation toolkit and can only be added to a Model Validation component in the Project Tree.
